Stephanie Comfort has been collecting postcards of Jewish life, synagogues and towns from around the world for many years. Her Jewish postcards are from almost every continent from Europe, Africa, North and South America, Australia and Asia. One of Stephanie's specialty is eastern Europe before World War II and the Holocaust - a place of "long-gone individuals and communities."

Stephanie Comfort's Jewish postcard collection is one of the largest collections of Jewish images on the Internet. You may use one of the images on your web site if you give credit to her web site and a link back to the front page of the web site"

Interesting - Ashkenazi couple and family plus Sephardic guests. I have a photo that looks just like this one in many ways - its a wedding in Lithuania sans Sephardic guests.

AP Laserphoto. June 1982. Beaufort Castle, Lebanon. Israeli Prime Mnisterat PLO Stronghold - Prime Minister Menachem Begin of Israel, right, and Israeli Defense Minister Ariel Sharon, center, tour Beaufort Castle, the PLO stronghold that was captured by Israeli forces. The ancient citadel was captured as Israel's invasion army attacked major Palestinian guerrilla (Terrorist) strongholds.
There is a film on the "taking" of the castle and the "departing from it".

Maaleh Adumim Jewish Israel - image0-2

By Jodi Cobb - 1984 National Geographic Society. (Another good reason for my cancelling my 43 years subscription). Yet another Israeli town "sprouts" on West Bank (Israeli) soil. Officially part of Jordan (who attacked Israel repeatedly and "lost it") - the West Bank has seen the coming of about 150 Israeli settlements of all sizes since 1967. This aerial view, taken near Jerusalem, shows the instant suburb of Maaleh Adumim, expected to house 12,000 Israelis by 1985. Most newcomers to the West Bank are not zealots but middle-class commuter taking advantage of housing heavily subsidized by the Israeli Government.
